Last night, Saturday 2/26/22, at about 9pm we were made aware of fire blazing through one of the largest apartment complexes in our Buford Highway Corridor. Many families including several with small children have been displaced and lost everything. As we've worked to serve this community for years we have been communicating with families in need since last night and have started accepting donations on their behalf. We had families that had nowhere to spend the night last night with even one family staying in the parking lot of a nearby Quicktrip because they had nowhere else to go. Los Vecinos de Buford Highway will be assisting these families with financial aid, food, clothing and in looking for temporary and permanent housing. We ask our supporters and our community to please help with whatever they can to uplift our families in their time of need. Every dollar counts when it comes to making sure that families and their babies have somewhere safe to lay down at night and their basic necessities met.
